Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are probably the most powerful cosmetic dentistry procedure. They can completely reshape your smile, so when they’re done right, they can give you the most beautiful smile. However, when they’re done poorly, they have an equal capacity for working out poorly.

Cheap materials are a common complaint. Dentists offering inexpensive porcelain veneers often use inferior materials that don’t accurately reproduce the luster of your natural teeth. Other times, they may wear out or break too quickly.

Bulky teeth is a complaint we see a lot from people who got cheap smile makeovers. This is especially common with prepless porcelain veneers, which just glue or clip onto your natural teeth.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are sometimes used in the front of the mouth, and may have the same complaints as porcelain veneers. Since dental crowns were often made of metal in the past, we also have people coming to us regularly for rejuvenation of their smile if they have metal crowns

But there’s another common complaint about dental crowns that we deal with: discomfort. Dental crowns are designed to be strong, and when they are placed improperly they can interfere with the fit of your teeth, resulting in bite discomfort, and in some cases, even TMJ.

Dentures

Dentures are a common source of dissatisfaction. Many dentures are just made out of cheap materials that don’t look natural at all. But there’s a bigger problem: most dentures don’t adequately support your jaw, lips, and cheeks. Without this support, the lower third of your face can collapse, making you look much older than your actual age.

Gum Recontouring

When done properly, gum recontouring can give your smile a straighter, healthier, and more balanced appearance. But when done poorly, it can result in receding gums. This can be due to either over-aggressive removal of gum tissue or infection after gum recontouring. In either case, you’re left with too much of your teeth showing, possibly in a very uneven way.
