For decades, Beyond Exceptional Dentistry has been elevating dental care as a destination practice for patients everywhere. While the faces of our practice have evolved over time, our guiding principles remain. Our team has always been committed to delivering care that is truly Beyond Exceptional.
DR. BRAD DURHAM, OUR FOUNDER
Founded by Dr. Brad Durham as Durham Dental, our Savannah practice was built on a vision: to deliver dental care that went beyond what insurance companies deemed enough.
After pursuing extensive post-doctoral training, Dr. Durham realized that dental school only scratched the surface of what was possible. He pioneered a new approach to cosmetic dentistry that not only created stunning smiles but also improved function—often alleviating TMJ symptoms in the process.
Dr. Durham complemented these innovations with a patient experience unlike any other, earning the practice its now-famous tagline: “Beyond Exceptional Dentistry.”
His reputation drew patients from all over, including Paula Deen and many pillars of the Savannah community. After decades of exceptional care, Dr. Durham retired, passing the practice into the capable hands of Dr. Rod Strickland and Dr. Ryan Reeves.
DR. ROD STRICKLAND, INNOVATION IN PRACTICE
When Dr. Rod Strickland joined the team, Beyond Exceptional Dentistry was already renowned for its transformative care. Yet he recognized an unmet need: dentures that were not just functional, but also aesthetic, comfortable, and restorative. By blending principles of neuromuscular and aesthetic dentistry, Dr. Strickland developed a revolutionary approach that improved not only the smile but also the overall appearance and confidence of patients.
This innovation led to the creation and trademarking of Denture Fountain of Youth® (FOY®) Dentures, attracting patients from across multiple states. Dr. Strickland even trained other dentists in this groundbreaking technique, expanding Beyond Exceptional Dentistry’s influence far beyond Georgia. After two decades of transformative service, Dr. Strickland moved on to pursue new endeavors.
DR. RYAN REEVES, ELEVATING THE LEGACY
Dr. Ryan Reeves brings a legacy of learning, leadership, and innovation to Beyond Exceptional Dentistry. Coming from a family of dentists, Dr. Reeves was drawn to our growing Savannah practice for the opportunity to expand and evolve the work Dr. Durham began. Hand-selected to join the team, Dr. Reeves quickly assumed ownership and the role of managing dentist, continuing the mission of delivering optimal care.
A celebrated LVI Fellow, Dr. Reeves continually invests in his professional development through advanced training programs, including Masterclass series, to stay at the forefront of cosmetic and neuromuscular dentistry. His inclusion in South Magazine’s Greatest Dentists reflects the high regard in which he is held both by the community and his peers.
